Bolton Furniture is the import division of Vermont Precision Woodworks, a company with a history that dates back to the early 1900s. The northern Vermont company was part of a tradition of quality craftsmanship that is a part of the state’s distinctive manufacturing history. Two centuries ago, Vermont was full of skilled woodworkers who made magic from the forests that covered most of the state’s terrain. Most every town in Vermont had a craftsman who could make functional and decorative items for the locals. Woodworking supported logging, lumber mills and the craftsmen.

Over the years, the industry expanded as the population increased, and as customers across the country learned about the quality and diversity of Vermont’s wood products. Wood manufacturing became an industry that put the state on the map internationally. From bowling pins to Scrabble tiles to cutting boards, Vermont’s craftsmen could turn their bountiful natural resource—forests—into beautiful products.

Fast forward to the 1980s and Vermont Precision begins making twin and bunk beds that find homes in dorms and residential properties. The company proved its standout ability to make furniture to withstand everyday wear and tear, and satisfy customers.

Today, Vermont Precision’s youth bedroom furniture business is Bolton Furniture. We channel the expertise and commitment to durability and quality into each loft bed, desk, dresser, chest and armoire we make. And we still care for our customers like small-town businesses in Vermont always have.

From the Essex collection, inspired by local tradition, to the Emma and best-selling Wakefield collection, Bolton has your kids furniture needs covered.
